01What are the benefits of window tinting?
Benefits include reduced heat and glare, UV protection, increased privacy, and improved aesthetics.
02Is window tinting legal?
Window tinting laws vary by location and typically regulate the allowable darkness and reflectivity of the tint. It’s important to check local regulations.
03What is the difference between dyed, metalized, and ceramic window tint?
Dyed tint is affordable and provides basic shading, metalized tint has metallic particles for better heat reduction (though it can block cell signals, so it is typically used for residential/architectural application), and ceramic tint offers superior heat performance without interfering with electronics.
04How long does window tint last?
The lifespan of window tint varies based on film quality and exposure. All of our films come with a lifetime material and labor warranty against peeling, fading, purpling, delaminating, bubbling, or any other problems that occur with the film.
05How is window tint applied?
Window tint is applied by thoroughly cleaning the window, cutting the tint film to size, using heat to form it to the glass, and adhering it to the glass with a special adhesive.
06Can window tint be removed?
Yes, window tint can be removed using heat - usually a steamer - and a chemical solution, though it’s recommended to have a professional do it.
07Does window tint affect visibility at night?
Darker tints can reduce visibility at night, so it’s important to choose a tint that balances day and night driving needs.
08Will window tint bubble or peel over time?
High-quality tint applied professionally should not bubble or peel if properly maintained, though lower-quality tints may degrade faster.
09How much does window tinting cost?
Costs vary based on the type of tint, size of the vehicle or windows, and the professional services used. Prices can range from $120 to $800 or more.
10How do I care for my tinted windows?
Avoid ammonia-based cleaners, and use soft cloths or sponges to clean tinted surfaces to prevent scratches. Also be mindful when removing your seatbelt so it doesn’t nick the film.
11Can window tint be applied to windows with factory tint?
Yes, factory tint is baked into the glass and there is no issue applying tint on top of it. Tint can even be applied over existing film, but that typically voids any warranty.
12Does window tint provide privacy at night?
Window tint provides privacy during the day when it is brighter outside, but at night, when lights are on inside, visibility from the outside increases.
13Does window tint block UV rays?
Most window tints block 99% of harmful UV rays, providing protection against skin damage and interior fading.
14Can window tint help reduce energy costs?
Yes, window tint can reduce cooling costs by keeping the interior cooler, which lowers the need for air conditioning.
15How long does it take to tint car windows?
Tinting a car’s windows can take between 2 to 4 hours, occasionally longer, depending on the number of windows and the complexity of the job.
16Can I roll down my windows after tinting?
It’s generally recommended to wait at least 3 to 5 days before rolling down your windows to allow the tint to fully adhere.
17What is the darkest legal tint?
This varies by state or country. Common limits are 35% VLT (Visible Light Transmission) on front side windows and lower percentages for rear windows.
18Will window tint interfere with GPS or cell phone signals?
Metalized tints can interfere with signals, but ceramic and dyed tints typically do not cause any issues.
19Can I install window tint myself?
DIY kits are available, but professional installation is recommended for the best results and to ensure compliance with legal standards. Imagine installing a screen protector on your phone - if your phone were the size of a car window.
20What is the best window tint for Teslas?
Because of the amount of glass in Teslas, notably the Model 3, Model Y, Model X, and Cybertruck, a quality heat-rejecting ceramic tint is the best option for owners looking to cool down their vehicles, and even extend their range while doing so.
Ceramic coating
Ceramic coating.
01What is the difference between a ceramic coating and clear bra?
They serve distinct purposes. A ceramic coating repels water, dirt, and contaminants, enhancing gloss and protecting against UV rays and minor scratches. Clear bra (paint protection film) is a transparent, physical film that shields paint from rock chips, scratches, and other physical damage. Clear bra offers substantial protection against abrasion; ceramic coatings provide a chemical shield that improves appearance and ease of maintenance.
02Should I use a ceramic coating on my wheels?
Applying a ceramic coating to your wheels is highly recommended. It protects against brake dust, road grime, and harsh chemicals, making wheels easier to clean, and acts as a barrier against corrosion and damage to keep them looking pristine for longer.
